Puppy Group Class
Following the AKC STAR Puppy® Program, this six-week course meets once a week on the same day and time. Classes focus on early socialization, basic training skills, and teaching owners the responsibilities of raising a well-behaved puppy. This program is perfect for giving your puppy a strong, confident start.

Canine Good Citizen Group Class
This group class prepares dogs and handlers for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Focus is placed on real-world manners, reliable obedience, and polite behavior around people and other dogs. Skills practiced include loose-leash walking, sit and down stays, coming when called, handling and grooming acceptance, and calm responses to distractions. Ideal for dogs looking to improve everyday behavior or work toward CGC certification.

This group class prepares dogs and handlers for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA) test. Focus is placed on real-world manners, reliable obedience, and polite behavior around people and other dogs. Skills practiced include loose-leash walking, stay in a group and while owner walks through a doorway, walking past food and leaving it and more. Ideal for dogs looking to improve everyday behavior or work toward CGC certification.

Reactive Rover Group Class
A five-week small-group class for dogs who struggle with reactivity caused by overexcitement or fear. Through structured exercises and controlled setups, dogs learn to remain calm, build confidence, and improve focus around other dogs. This class is not appropriate for dogs with a bite history.

We offer Private lessons on campus, in home and in public to work through a variety of training and behaviors
On-Campus Private Lesson Package (4 Sessions)
A package of four 45-minute private lessons held on campus, 210 Prairie Lane Bentonville, AR 72712. These one-on-one sessions are fully customized to your dog’s needs and goals, focusing on obedience, behavior modification, confidence building, or specific problem behaviors in a structured training environment. Great to work on training problems that don't occur in your home environment.

In-Home Private Lesson Package
A package of five 45-minute private lessons conducted in your home or surrounding area. Ideal for addressing real-life challenges such as leash walking, reactivity, household manners, or distractions. Pricing is based on whether the location is within a 10-minute radius of campus. Travel Fee: In-home lessons outside our service radius include a $40 per-lesson travel fee to offset extended travel time and maintain scheduling availability for all clients.

Hybrid Private Lesson Package (6 sessions)
A flexible package of six 45-minute private lessons, including four sessions on campus and two sessions in your home or surrounding area. This option combines structured training with real-world application to help skills transfer smoothly into everyday life. Training Programs
We offer curated programs to work through the most common to complex behaviors on campus while your dog stays with us. Daycare/Board and Train Clients also receive access to our monthly group class to help maintain and refresh behaviors learned during the program.
Daycare and Train
This Monday–Friday training program combines structured daytime play with approximately six hours of focused training each day. Dogs return home each evening while receiving consistent, individualized training throughout the week. Daily video homework is emailed to clients to demonstrate progress, reinforce skills, and support continued practice at home.

This Monday–following Friday training program includes overnight boarding and approximately six hours of structured training each weekday. Training is customized to address obedience, manners, and behavior goals in a real-world setting. Daily video homework is emailed to clients to demonstrate progress, reinforce skills, and support continued practice at home. The program includes an exit bath, one-hour private lesson on campus at pickup. as well as, one off-site refresher private lesson to support long-term success.

This immersive Monday–Friday training program includes overnight boarding and approximately six hours of structured training each weekday. Training is fully customized to address obedience, manners, and behavior goals in a real-world setting. The program includes a fifteen minute private exit session on campus at pickup to ensure a smooth transition home.

Stay Cool Lesson
A great add-on for any daycare or boarding service. These lessons are best used as brush ups for behaviors your dog is already familiar with, or a great enrichment option. during four hours with the trainer, your dog will get to work through a customized training lesson. we offer bundles for additional discounts. 5 for $575 and 10 for $1000

Heather Wegner

Owner
Heather Wegner is the owner of Coolwag and is available for training on a case-by-case basis. She has over 20 years of experience working with dogs and a strong focus on education, safety, and professional standards in pet care. Originally from Garfield, Arkansas, Heather built a career as an IT Professional and Project Manager before returning home with her husband, Eric, and their two children, who can often be found helping out at Coolwag. Heather holds a B.S. in Human Resources and Workforce Management from the University of Arkansas. She is a NADD Judge, an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Evaluator, and a certified Pet Tech Pet CPR & First Aid Instructor, ensuring the Coolwag team remains current in emergency care and safety practices.

Tayler Smith, CPDT-KA

Director of Training
Tayler Smith is the Director of Training at Coolwag and a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA). Tayler is passionate about developing effective, humane training programs that support dogs and their handlers through clear communication and thoughtful training practices. A significant focus of Tayler’s work is training service animals and supporting teams that rely on highly reliable, real-world skills. In addition to dog training, Tayler runs a parrot rescue, bringing a deep understanding of animal behavior, enrichment, and welfare across species. This broader perspective strongly influences Tayler’s approach to training, education, and problem-solving. As Director of Training, Tayler oversees program development, trainer mentorship, and training standards to ensure consistency and quality across all services.

Jacob Deemer

Head Trainer
Jacob is passionate about helping dogs and their owners build strong, positive relationships through effective, thoughtful training. He works with dogs of all breeds and temperaments, focusing on clear communication and practical skills that support long-term success. Jacob specializes in creating personalized training programs that address obedience, behavior challenges, and skill development. His training style emphasizes consistency, support, and strengthening the bond between dogs and their people. At home, Jacob shares his life with three rescue dogs: a sable German Shepherd, a Cattle Dog/German Shepherd mix, and a Doberman/German Shepherd mix. You may have even seen him in the Bentonville Christmas Parade, proudly walking one of Coolwag’s Animal Control fosters as they prepared to find a new home.

Trainer Assistant
Julianna is a natural animal lover who brings both passion and a bright, positive energy to her work each day. She has spent time shadowing our training team, consistently building her knowledge and refining her skills. You’ll often find her leading temperament tests for new dogs, helping ensure each one has a safe and positive first experience. Julianna also assists with both private and group lessons and works closely with dogs in our facility who benefit from additional one-on-one attention.
